Being A Landlord

The business of owning and managing residential rental property is much like any business. It takes research, planning and knowledge. As a Maryland landlord, it is important that you know the federal, state and local laws governing the landlord tenant relationship. Here are some resources that can help you as a landlord.

The People’s Law Library of Maryland has resources and documents that can tell you about your rights and responsibilities as a landlord.

BNI is a community organization with a Tenant-Landlord program that seeks to improve the relationship between tenants and landlords by informing them of their rights under the law. The BNI Tenant/Landlord Hotline is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Call 410-243-6007 or 1-800-487-6007 (MD Only).
