Temporary Disability Assistance Program (TDAP)-\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>This is a program through the state of Maryland that is designed to provide income (generally up to $185 per month) to an individual with a disability who has no dependent children. \u00a0In many cases, this program can be of use to people who are unable to work temporarily due to an injury and illness. \u00a0If a doctor certifies that the disability is likely to last at least 12 months, the person is also required to apply for disability benefits through the Social Security Administration, in order to continue receiving TDAP benefits. \u00a0The program is applied for through the Department of Social Services. Children under the age of 18 who are blind or disabled may also be eligible to receive SSI benefits.
