If you need help filling a prescription, there are many programs that might be able to help.

The Maryland Pharmacy Assistance Program provides help to qualified Maryland residents, regardless of age, who are not eligible for the Maryland Medical Assistance Program (Medicaid). Eligibility is not limited to the elderly and people with disabilities. Contact your local Department of Social Services office to learn how to apply or call 2-1-1 for the nearest location.

Many drug companies have Patient Assistance Programs that offer free or low cost drugs to uninsured individuals who cannot afford their medication. Each program has its own rules. Companies offer these programs voluntarily; the government does not require them to provide free medicine. Visit RxAssistant.org to find information on specific programs or drugs.
