Community Service Providers: Help Marylanders Connect To Your Programs

When Marylanders need food, housing, health care, or other essential support, they turn to 211.

As the state-designated administrator of the 211 system, Maryland Information Network (MdInfoNet) manages the 211 Statewide Community Resource Database, connecting Marylanders and agencies to thousands of essential services statewide.

If your program matches the inclusion policy, add it, and connect Maryland.

Be There When Someone Is Looking for Help

More than one million connections to help are made every year.

People come to 211 ready to take the next step. An outdated phone number, a changed eligibility requirement, or a program that is no longer available can stop them from getting there.

It only takes a few minutes to update your listing in the Statewide Community Resource Database(opens in new tab), and it strengthens connections.

All updates are handled by emailing: resources@211md.org.

A Shared Source of Health and Human Service Information

Adding your organization to the Community Resource Database connects you to communities far beyond those seeking help through 211.

Programs are discoverable through Care Coordination and our partner programs, such as Maryland Access Point(opens in new tab)... We work with health care, community groups, and local and state agencies.

Depending on the type of services offered, an organization may be discovered on several digital platforms and through other programs we manage.

Plus, this shared source of information provides our partners with an opportunity to use verified resource data to power their programs and initiatives, identify resource gaps, and obtain better data to inform decision-making. It also reduces redundancies across parallel databases containing the same information and lowers the cost of maintaining the data for everyone.

Let's innovate together on new ways to build a stronger, more connected system that makes information easier to access.

A Community Can't Close a Gap It Doesn't Know Exists

Where are Marylanders struggling to find food, transportation, health care, and other essential services? And how can community organizations work together to close those gaps?

Margaret Fowler of Totally Linking Care joins Maryland Information Network's Kenyn Benjamin and Kendal Lee to discuss how data, local partnerships, and how the 211 Statewide Community Resource Database can help identify underserved communities and connect residents to support.

Margaret shares her vision for creating wellness neighborhoods, where organizations use data to understand local needs, identify available resources, and work together to connect people with services.

Watch the conversation to see how shared resources and community partnerships can make a difference.
