Essential Needs
In addition to food, the Neighborhood Service Center in Easton offers a rental allowance program (RAP), a transitional homeless shelter, household goods and clothing, and emergency services to those facing eviction or utility shut-off in Talbot County.
When funds are available, the emergency services program may also help with prescription medication and other emergencies.

Mediation And Legal Support
If you’re experiencing an issue with a landlord, roommate or neighbor, parenting plan/custody agreement, elder care, employment issue, small claims case or other situation that could benefit from mediation, contact the Mid Shore Mediation Center.
The voluntary, confidential, non-judgmental mediation can help resolve conflicts. The service is free at its locations in Dorchester, Talbot, and Caroline counties.
For legal help, Mid-Shore Pro Bono may offer a solution. They help Eastern Shore residents with adult guardianship, divorce, foreclosure, legal separation, power of attorney, child custody, bankruptcy, and other legal disputes. They charge a one-time fee of $25 to process applications. You can request a waiver of this fee. They are located in Easton with satellite offices in Chestertown and Salisbury.
