211 Information and Referral Specialists often refer residents to the Joseph House Crisis Center in nearby Salisbury. There are no residency requirements to get help. You must apply in person, though, to get help with food or paying a bill.

If you need food, the Maryland Food Bank has an Eastern Shore Branch in Salisbury, including a School Pantry Program. Find a food pantry in Somerset County.

 

Life Crisis Center

Life Crisis Center, which is part of the 211 network of call centers, supports mental health needs in Somerset County and surrounding communities.

They provide crisis intervention and violence prevention programs for domestic violence victims, sexual assault and child abuse. Services include a safe home, intensive case management, supervised visitation, counseling, legal services, victim support, abuser groups and outreach. They serve Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset counties.

Therapy is offered free of charge to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse. It’s also available to survivors of homicide in the tri-county region of the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
